In this context was part the initiative of setting up of the Balkan Environmental Network ELAIN, consisting of seven major municipalities in the Balkans: the municipality of Novi Sad and the municipality of Nis (Serbia), the municipality of Rijeka (Croatia), the municipality of East Sarajevo and the municipality of Bijeljina (Bosnia and Herzegovina), the municipality of Tirana (Albania) and the municipality of Sofia (Bulgaria).
We are delighted with the outcome of the work and the cooperation that has been developed. The common platform for cooperation has been a platform for exchanging best practices, continuous transfer of information on European and national policies and local actions in the field of environmental protection and alerting citizens and decision makers. We are looking forward to continue cooperation and thematic and geographical expansion.
Finally, I would like to thank the mayors of the plan for their trust and faith in our vision. Without their interest and determination, it could not be possible to implement it.
